What’s hiding in my garden 01

Artist Statement:

The backyard garden can be a precious refuge from the pressures of our busy lives, shaped by rising living costs, a hectic work-life balance, and family stress. The local park or home garden can become a sanctuary where we immerse ourselves in the soulful sounds, the breeze rustling through the branches, the quiet hum of traffic, and the scattered echoes of bugs and wildlife among the leaf litter. Creating artworks depicting the urban landscape is a subject I find truly fascinating. Using discarded and found objects is essential to my practice; giving new life and purpose to materials is something I have been exploring. The typical tropical Territory Louvre is iconic in its own right, and here, it serves as a canvas to highlight the shapes and silhouettes of the tiny little things, creatures, thriving in our gardens.
