Come and enjoy a day of spray painting your portrait!
David Collins from Mayfair Gallery has put AENT in touch with contemporary artist ‘Ha Ha’ (Regan Tamanui) who is coming up to Darwin to exhibit as part of the Darwin Festival in ‘Headshots’. Thanks tons to David Collins who has also offered for us to use Mayfair Gallery for our workshop event with Ha Ha on Sat 12th of August from 10am – 2pm.
So… come along to Mayfair Gallery on Sat 12th August and make a 3-4 stencil layered portrait of yourself and spray paint it onto a square canvas (that we will provide 25cm x 25 cm). The faces will be displayed as part of our ‘Face/s of AENT’ collection at our upcoming members’ exhibition ‘Out of the ART ROOM’ at DVAA 18 Aug – 2 Sept.
The workshop with Ha Ha will run between 10-2pm on Sat 12th August @ Mayfair Gallery. We can break for lunch – maybe grab some chinese food from Zen’s in Harriet Place.
Places are limited to max 20 participants.
* 5 copies of a printed image of your faces a4 size (remember our canvases will be a bit shorter at 25cm square)
* a pen that dosen’t smugde on acetate or transparency
* pens and pencils
* some extra materials to spray stencils on such as paper or canvas or both (maybe some extra paper for study pieces)
* a dust masks for spraying paint (for health & safety reasons)
* a drop sheet
* assorted spray paint colours which David will have in his shop to purchase on the day.
