Botanical Studies in Mixed Media – 2 day workshop with Jasmine Jan

Botanical artworks using mixed media, watercolour, coloured pencil and graphite pencil.
In this 2 day workshop participants will be introduced to working on botanical subject matter and using a combination of mediums. Day 1 participants will cover a series of mark making techniques in watercolour, coloured pencil and graphite to learn how to lay down a base colour and then add detail with coloured pencil and graphite. Day 2 participants will then focus on a series of small botanical studies focusing on elements of a plant from flowers, stems and leaves to apply techniques explored on Day 1.
At completion of this workshop participants will have created a couple of technique sheets that can then be used as a reference and starting point for future botanical studies.
We will work with real specimens and objects from Jasmine’s studio and block. Hopefully the waterlillies will be in flower and we will be able to collect some from the billabong.

Jasmine will provide morning tea with her delectable treats she bakes herself.
AENT will provide some wraps & fruit for lunch.
