Artist Statement:
“Early Bird Gets the Book Worm” is a series of six Northern Territory birds drawn onto original library borrowing cards dating back to 1993. Featuring the Curlew, Jabiru, Bush Turkey, Plover, Magpie Goose and Gouldian Finch, the works combine local wildlife with objects that carry their own quiet history. The aged cards evoke a sense of nostalgia, recalling a time of handwritten/stamped records and borrowed stories.
